My 11 Stages of Ironman Taper
Excitement – OMG I WILL EAT ALL THE FOOD AND REST SO MUCH!!
Bloating – Ooof, two days off in a row, surely I have gained 12 lbs.
Second guessing – I didn’t do enough! I MUST RUN 12 MILES!! MOAR SWIMMING!! BIKE TOO!!
Bubble Wrap – No more bike rides, I could crash!!
Wishing there was more time – If I just had three more weeks I’d be ready!! Maybe I can wake up at 3:00 AM to swim a couple of miles, power walk on my lunch break, and then ride for 2 hours after work, if there was only more time!!
Hungries – WHY am I SO HUNGRY? I’ve hardly even worked out because I’m tapering!
Restlessness – Cool, wide awake past normal bed time thinking about what I will put in my T1 bag.
Tantrums – WHY IS LIFE SO UNFAIR?!! WAHHHH!!
Daydreaming – What? Are you talking to me?
Getting Organized – I’m making lists, taking names, going to nail my fuel plan!
Race Week – I’m as ready as I can be, LET’S DO THIS!!
