I should be packing for Racine right now, but I like the drama of last minute packing and rushing out of the door. The possibility of forgetting something important, what else would we talk about on the drive there?
Just kidding, we’ll talk about Pokemon Go.
So Ironman 70.3 Racine is on Sunday. That’s exciting. Remember back in January when we had a shiny new year and I boldly shouted on my blog that THIS was the year I would break six hours in a half iron?
haaaaaaa hahahhaha. lol. Just kidding. Let’s try again in 2017.
As my history repeats itself, I did too many races, committed to too many things, did my minimal training, and I’m just not there. I’ll finish, I’ll do the best I can, and at the end of the day that’s better than nothing. Oh, and did I mention the 15-25 mph wind that’s forecasted? LOLZ!
I’ve dumped any and all goals for Racine, but one personal goal I’m working on reflecting positive energy. I really do have that, if you can believe. Here’s the funny thing, since I started my new job in April and have actually been less negative about life in general, (because I’M SO HAPPY), people interact with me less. Misery loves company. People are miserable. I’m not good company anymore.
Is that weird?
Anyhow. To ensure that I am actually radiating what I feel inside, I’m jumping on the 100 Happy Days bandwagon. Yup. Starting today. It’s a perfect time to start really, right when Ironman Wisconsin training starts to become draining. I train for this because I LOVE it. I love how strong and committed it makes me feel.
Lastly, this is too strange not to document on blog…In 2013 Katy Perry released my Ironman training anthem Roar. It was released right when I was feeling uncertain if I could really finish my first Ironman. Today, three years later, training for my third Ironman, feeling uncertain, Rise was released.
Don’t doubt it, don’t doubt it!
